Andrew is Director of Supporter Relations at Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People and has been at the East Midlands hospice since 2015. Andrew has 19 years’ fundraising experience, first joining the British Red Cross from building materials company Tarmac in 2000. He spent the next 8 years working in a variety of national fundraising roles across a range of disciplines, including Community Fundraising, Fundraising Development and Fundraising Strategy.
In 2007 he led the British Red Cross Tesco Charity of the Year partnership, raising £4.68m – at the time, a record amount for this major charity partnership. In 2008 Andrew moved to the NSPCC to manage the Corporate Partnerships Management Team before joining The Communication Trust (a consortium of over 40 children’s charities) as Campaign Director. Following the campaign, Andrew spent 18 months at the Stroke Association as Project Director for the charity’s re-brand and in May 2013 Andrew returned to the children’s communication sector when he took up the role of Director of Fundraising at children’s charity I CAN, before joining Rainbows 2 years later.
Andrew is Chair of the Institute of Fundraising in the East Midlands and has become a mentor to widen the role he plays in developing the fundraising profession.
