Luke began his career in fundraising at Save the Children in 2001, following a spell working in the NHS. Since then Luke has worked with a number of charities of varying scales, the British Heart Foundation, DHIVERSE and since 2016 CLIC Sargent, where Luke is Assistant Director of Fundraising, responsible for leading a cross-cutting supporter engagement function.
A community and relationship fundraising specialist Luke has experience of successfully developing and implementing community fundraising growth strategies, building investment cases and leading large dispersed fundraising teams. With substantial experience of planning and leading significant strategic and people change programmes, Luke brings strong experience of change management and embedding structural and cultural change.
A former CEO in a regional health and social care charity Luke has experience of working directly with Trustees and establishing a fundraising function from scratch, with particular insight into commissioning and statutory funding as well as stakeholder management and building partnerships.
Luke is a passionate advocate of developing talent within the sector and has mentored and coached fundraisers, as well as benefitting from mentoring himself. Luke is a regular speaker at Institute of Fundraising convention and conferences.
